WELCOME BACK TO THE BLOG. After this week everyone will have officially played each other on the year. Weeks 10-14 will be 1 rival game each week and divisional games so its gonna get spicy. Also the trade deadline is week 11 as a reminder so only a couple weeks before no more trading. Before we dive into some of the break down here is a word from Chucks pickems.
Chucks pickems is in a tight race as 7 points separate 1st through 6th. We are hitting the half way point for the pickems after this week so we got a long season to go. Nobody has a had a perfect 10/10 week yet but I expect that to change soon as we have had some great weeks with people getting 8. As of right now the top 3 are Chuck 45, Erik 44 and Ryan and Nauch tied at 39. Are these the elite ball knowers? I mean Erik and Chuck lead their divisions, Ryan is 6-2 only behind in PF and Nauch had his team drafted by Hurtado so no shock he is 1-7 in LOD. Remember to do your pickems people. The people who have forgot to do them either just for morning games or all together are Soundcloud, Wings, Ant, Rob and Gio. Do your pickems I want to see a perfect rest of the season of people doing their pickems. Now back to LOD.
Lets break down some Divisions shall we.
Democrats Vs Republicans
The Democrat division has been the most dominant this season combining for 23 wins across the division compared to the republicans 17. This Division has also allowed the least amount of points across the board with only Ant allowing over 1200 points while, everyone in the Republicans has allowed over 1200 points and even 1300 with Gio and Rob being the only 2 that have allowed that. The top 3 records in all of LOD also belong to the Democrats as the top 3 are all 6-2 records. Obviously we shall see which division will be the best once the season has concluded, but right now the blue states control the board.
The Democrats division is up for grabs for the 1st place in the division and that bye week. While Chuck, Bryan and Ryan are all 6-2, Wings is only 2 games back with 6 weeks to go. Here is a break down of the democrats division.
- Chuck currently holds a 52.5 point lead over Bryan for the division lead. Chuck plays republican division leader this week in Erik as they are battling to maintain control of their divisions. Chuck does have the hardest schedule remaining in LOD as he battles the 2 highest scoring teams in Gio and Erik. The other 2 6-2 teams in Ryan and Bryan. Current Champion Wings. Then IR reserve Ant.
- Bryan currently holds a 61.9 points lead over Ryan in the divisional race. Bryan plays Gio this week who is coming off of back to back L's and looking to get back on track and return to his dominant form. Bryans team is coming into its own so I expect this to be a dog fight.
- Ryan is the least scoring 6-2 in the democrats division, but is on a 4 game win streak. This team has been sneaky and is now tied for a division lead and best record in LOD.
- Wings is 2 games back in the division and 226.2 points back from the 6th seed in Gio. Lets be real though, Gio aint gonna be the 6th seed. So a playoff spot is definitely up for grabs and the division is not out of reach yet either. Last year you were also 4-4 heading into week 9. You finished the season at 9-5 as your only loss was to Chuck in that span. Is history set to repeat itself?
- Ant unfortunately you can no longer win the division and only have a shot at playoffs through PF for the 6th seed (c'mon we know that is not gonna happen). At least your team is back healthy and you can focus on playing upset in the division and really fuck up some peoples chances for playoffs.
- Erik currently holds a 188.3 point lead over Soundcloud for the division lead. Erik has a big game against Democratic division leader Chuck this week. This is a big week for Erik as Gio plays Bryan who has been scoring quite a bit and Soundcloud having his team on by while playing a healthy Ant. Next week Soundcloud and Gio play each other while you play Nauch. Then playing Rob which is always a high scoring afar before you play Gio, Soundcloud and Wings to end the year.
- Soundcloud you hold a one game lead over Gio, So beating Ant this week is a must while Gio is in a tough matchup against Bryan. You more than likely are not catching them in PF so winning games is definitely the priority here. Bryan was the last rookie in the league in 2022 and went 4-2 down this stretch when it mattered. While you will not match his 10-4 record, you can be the second rookie to ever make playoffs in their debut. Bryans rookie year 2022(10-4 made playoffs), Ryan's rookie year 2021(6-8 missed playoffs), Alex(RIP) Rookie year 2019(5-8 missed playoffs).
- Gio 1 game back and half a point back behind Erik for overall PF lead. Back to back L's and rough games for you. However, if you were truly just fighting for 6th seed your up by 193.6 points so lets be real as of right now you are guaranteed a playoff spot, but we know you are fighting for that bye week. Ultimately I do not think you stay in the 6th seed, so we shall discuss more with you down the road when we are getting closer to yoffs.
- Brother Rob, based on your PF and having 2 wins, you are still technically in it to make playoffs without it being solely based on PF. However, that means you have to win out for that to be the case. If you drop 1 game then it falls back to being PF only. However, since the sleeper Era in 2019 you have never won more than 3 straight and that was only once. So PF it is for you and break down more below.
- Nauch brother, this year was not about the LOD ring for you. Congrats again on getting married and while you focus on the offseason and getting your keepers right for next year and maybe some draft pick trading in the offseason. Keep fighting the good fight and play spoiler to teams trying to make it. I will say this is the team that is fully eliminated based on strength of roster.
- Bryan 1248.6 with the lead in PF. Bryan has been scoring pretty great lately but with still having to play Gio, Chuck and Ryan then also having is rival week against Rob with him missing Chase, Pookie and Ferguson during that week as well this is still something to be concerned about moving forward. Being 6-2 definitely helps though holding a 2 game lead over 4-4 being the record for 6th seed.
- Soundcloud 1210.5 currently 38.1 points behind Bryan. The Guarantee off facing Gio and Erik alone, plus your rival being 6-2 Ryan does not help either. Only being a loss away from the 6th seed. Are you really #All-in or are you gonna choke down the stretch.
- Rob sitting at 1204.7 only being 5.8 points behind Soundcloud while being 2-6 and only 43.9 points behind Bryan. You are very much in this hunt for the playoffs and with Lamar Jackson coming back and Puka coming back benefits Davante Adams a ton. This team is right in the playoff race for the 6th seed and definitely has the squad to play upset and cause chaos in these final weeks.
- Ryan with 1186.7 sitting 18 points behind Rob, 23.8 points behind Soundcloud and 61.8 points behind Bryan. Having the 2 game lead being 6-2 is beneficial for you right now. However with 4 of your 6 weeks remaining being against all the teams in the PF hunt, you definitely have a stressful schedule especially when you also got to play Chuck still and your only chill game still being the Colorado Bowl against Ant. Lets see if the hot streak can keep going after winning 4 in a row.
- Wings with 1172.1 sitting 14.6 points behind Ryan, 32.6 points being Rob, Being 38.4 behind Soundcloud and 76.5 behind Bryan, you have a uphill battle these last 6 weeks. Like I said earlier you were here last year at 4-4 with your back against the wall. These next 2 weeks of playing Nauch and Ant are huge for you for the win column. Being 2 games behind Ryan and Bryan and only a game behind Soundcloud your main focus is catching Rob in PF over the next couple weeks. You play Chuck, Ryan, Bryan and Erik to end your season. You definitely benefit a lot over the next couple of weeks. Will you take full advantage of it though is the question.
