1/4th of the way through, time to lock in WEEK 5

 

    

    Gentleman, first rivalry week in the books. Great idea by the Commish! You will each play your rival one more time! So, if you lost this week *cough *cough Gio, Rob, Ant, Ryan, and Wings, you will be able to get your revenge at some point this season. Now that we are essentially a quarter of the way through the season, I am going to do things a little differently from now on. Most of the time power rankings are about winning games, now everything is going to be incorporated into these rankings just like they do in the NFL. Welcome to the new LOD rankings. 

    Before I get started, here is your weekly reminder to do the pickems as well as making sure to fill out the tie breaker for the pickems at the bottom. For those that have been keeping up and doing it consistently I appreciate it. Wings with the Commissioners Cup and my self with the pickems are just trying to show why LOD is a great league and why we have now been around for 10 seasons with majority of this league staying the same. Trying and competing regardless of what is happening even when you have a losing record or your star players get hurt. Overall, I just want to make sure that we are having a great time as a league overall. 

    Now, the reason you guys are all here, the new and improved LODSPN Power rankings. 

1. Erik "Prime Time" - 2nd PF -  3rd PA: 4-0 Record: #1 Overall

    Erik has built a solid squad. James cook and Jonathan Taylor are the backbone of this team and pairing it with Amon-Ra and Trey McBride, this team does not look like it is going to slow down anytime soon. Erik so far has played 2 teams over .500 on the year and 2 under and remains undefeated at 4-0. Erik also has the highest scoring game on the season at 223.80. Erik is built for success and is looking prime and making quality decisions as he has finished in the top 3, three different times in team performance by starting his max amount of points with two of those finishes being at number 1. Erik has a tough task this week in facing the highest PF in the league in Gio. This is a big matchup for Erik, as most teams that have started 5-0 in LOD history make playoffs. 

2. Gio "Single Mijo" - 1st PF - 10th PA:  2-2 Record: #4 Overall

    Gio has had an unfortunate start to the season has both his losses have come against the highest scoring team of the week while he was the second highest scoring team. This team could easily be 4-0 as well, but that is fantasy football and shit happens. You have been top 2 in scoring 3 out of the 4 weeks to start the season and have done it on the back of your draft. Single Gio has always been a scary fantasy football player week in and week out. I will predict this now why I am here, Gio will win the Republican Division with a 10 - 4 record and clinch a first round bye. 

3. Chuck "Cuck" - 3rd PF - 8th PA: 2-2 Record: #5 Overall 

    Chuck had a great first week then a terrible 2 weeks due to injuries and overall fantasy scoring just being low for majority of teams. This team has a 3 headed monster at RB with the #1, #5 and #9 scoring running backs in fantasy and Mahomes on a revenge tour looking like his old self. This team has the second highest score on the season at 213.10 and this team is not even at full strength. This will be a team to look out for down the line as this team has finished the #1 scorer for the last 3 seasons now and also with 2 first place regular season finishes and 2 championship appearances. Out here like the Bills in the 90's just can not get the job done in the Championship. 

4. Wings "Andrew" - 5th PF - 6th PA: 2-2 Record: #6 Overall 

    The champ is off to an okay start for the season. The talent on this team for fantasy purposes and after week 4 is where we really start to see offenses pick it up for fantasy, this team should start to hit its stride. Having the top 2 scoring players in fantasy in Puka and Josh Allen has obviously paid off. This team will also be getting Rashee Rice back soon and AJ Brown at some point has to perform right? I do think this team is a move or two away from being considered a top dawg championship contender, but we will find out those rankings after Week 7 has concluded since we will be at the halfway point. 

5. Bryan "Logic" - 7th PF - 1st PA: 3-1 Record: #3 Overall

    Bryan "Whatever you are calling yourself this week" I am going to be straight forward. You legit might be battling Nauch for the title of Frauch. You have played a bottom 3 scoring team 3 out of 4 weeks and the 4th week you played a bottom 4 scoring team. You are also the only team in the league that is yet to score over 150 points in a week. This team has talent on it do not get me wrong, some are in unfortunate situations or off to a slow start. Being 3 - 1 is why you are in the top 5, but now we are getting past the quarter point of the season. This team will either thrive and take off or get lucky each week playing low scoring teams. This is a big ? team for me at the moment, because Nauch was able to Frauch his way to a title with a tie. If you lose to the OG Frauch this week, I would be a little frightened. 

6. Radio "Soundcloud" - 6th PF - 5th PA: 3-1 Record: #2 Overall 

    Danny, you started off great 2-0 then traded your team away. You were looking like a powerhouse. Since you have made these trades you have been the lowest overall scoring team in the league the last 2 weeks. You played a low scoring team this week which got you barely to 3-1. Your decisions has what got you here, and frankly I expect this team to either fall off or be fighting for a 6th seed wildcard spot down the line. I say this is where you are going to get your wake up call and looking at your schedule you are about to be in some sweaty matchups down the line. It is time to show if the #All-in method is real or not. 

7. Diesel "Lindor" - 4th PF - 9th PA: 1-3 Record: #8 Overall

    Rob, your team has grit. This team is grinding and has obviously had some unfortunate matchups especially against Erik, but this team could very well be 2-2. Losing Lamar for a couple weeks hurts a little bit and losing Tyreek for the season, but the all swag team has been performing their ass off. I honestly think if you gave it that Reign Powered Effort this team could take off. I think the Rob hype train is in full force and we see Robs first appearance back in the playoffs since 2022. 

8. Ryan "Vietnam Vet" - 9th PF - 2nd PA: 2-2 Record: #7 Overall 

    Ryan, this has not been the start you wanted. This team is amazing on paper, but the sophomore slumps, or the players that are just not performing or now just after thoughts in their offenses have really fucked you here. I think you can give it a couple more weeks to figure out what you are going to do with this squad and see if they start to pick it up, but if they do not, this team could be in a lot of trouble. Having the second lowest scoring team and the second lowest points scored against you definitely puts you in not a threat territory and I know you will not give up that easily. 

9. Nauch "ABG" - 8th PF - 4th PA: 1-3 Record: #9 Overall

    You did it Nauch, you got your first win! This team is young. This team also just lost its best player for the season. I will say you are trending in the right direction though, you are the only team that has scored higher each and every week. You have made the playoffs the last 2 years including winning a championship. This would be the right time to continue on the rise and try and continue your streak of playoff appearances. We got a long way to go. 

10. Ant "Punjabi" - 10th PF - 7th PA: 0-4 Record: #10 Overall

    This team has now lost Joe Burrow, George Kittle, Aaron Jones, Ceedee Lamb, Ricky Pearsall, and Trey Benson for either an IR stint or out multiple games. I do not know how you continue to have the my team is always hurt curse on you, but it continues to be true. The crazy thing is, that this team is not bad on paper. We have 10 weeks left in the regular season. We can not trade for draft picks until the off season. Lets see if the tank commander will find a way to maybe get a win streak going and be the first person in LOD history to come back from a 0-4 start to make the playoffs.
